Industry Overview
Engineering machinery — excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and dump trucks — operates in the harshest environments on earth. From frozen tundra to scorching deserts, from abrasive iron ore to fractured rock, every machine component faces relentless wear. The cost of wear parts represents 15-30% of total machine operating costs, making wear optimization a critical factor in project profitability.
Zhili provides engineering machinery manufacturers and fleet operators with premium wear parts that dramatically extend component life. Our advanced metallurgy — from heat-treated low-alloy steels to proprietary composite alloys — delivers solutions tailored to each application: high-abrasion rock excavation, impact-heavy quarrying, and high-load material handling. We serve all major OEM brands including CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, XCMG, SANY, and LiuGong.

Core Material System for Engineering Machinery
The standard for high-abrasion excavator and loader bucket liners, chutes, and truck beds. A layer of high-chromium white iron (HRC 60+) is hot-rolled and metallurgically bonded to a tough low-alloy steel backing. This combines maximum surface wear resistance with structural integrity for bolt attachment.
| Wear Surface Hardness | HRC 58-65 |
| Carbide Volume Fraction | 30-45% (M₇C₃ type) |
| Bond Strength | > 350 MPa (shear) |
| Thickness Range | 4+20 mm to 8+30 mm |
For structural components (bucket adapters, side cutters, ripper shanks), Zhili uses precision heat-treated low-alloy steels (28CrMo, 35CrMnSi). The Q&T process ensures uniform hardness through thick cross-sections, providing the impact toughness needed for severe mechanical loading.
| Hardness | HRC 40-50 (selectable) |
| Impact Toughness | ak ≥ 30 J/cm² |
| Section Hardness Uniformity | ±2 HRC through-section |
| Application | Adapters, shanks, ripper tips, cutting edges |
For the most extreme abrasion applications — rock crusher jaws, dragline bucket lips, and pump impellers — tungsten carbide overlay applied by MIG/TIG welding delivers 3-5× the wear resistance of chromium carbide overlays. WC particles (HRA 89-92) are suspended in a ductile iron or Ni-based matrix.
| Surface Hardness | HRA 85-92 |
| WC Particle Size | 0.5-3.0 mm (customizable) |
| Wear Resistance vs. HCrCI | 3-5× longer |
| Application | Rock lips, pump components, extreme-abrasion zones |
Natural rubber and SBR compound linings absorb impact energy, reduce noise, and prevent material adhesion on truck beds, chutes, and bins. Zhili's rubber compounds are formulated for specific operating temperatures and chemical environments, with ceramic or steel cord reinforcement for the most demanding applications.
| Shore Hardness | 60-70 Shore A (selectable) |
| Temperature Range | -30°C to +80°C (standard) |
| Impact Absorption | Excellent — 40% better than steel |
| Application | Truck beds, chutes, bins, vibrating screens |
Typical Application Scenarios
Excavator & Loader Buckets
Bucket lips, side cutters, and bottom liners face severe three-body abrasion from soil, rock fragments, and sand. High-chromium bimetal composite provides maximum wear life with bolt-on replaceable segments.
Bimetal Liner Plates · Q&T SteelBulldozer Cutting Edges & End Bits
Cutting edges and end bits operate in direct contact with rock, frozen ground, and abrasive soils. Heat-treated boron steel provides excellent resistance to cutting forces and abrasion at a cost-effective price point.
Boron Steel · Heat-TreatedRipper Shanks & Tips
Ripper teeth penetrate and fracture rock and frozen ground under extreme impact loads. Requires maximum toughness plus good wear resistance —Zhili's Cr-Mo alloy with surface hardfacing delivers both.
Cr-Mo Alloy + HardfacingDump Truck Bodies & Beds
Million-tonne payloads of abrasive rock, ore, and sand create severe wear on dump truck bodies. Bimetal liner plates with ceramic reinforcement handle the combined impact and abrasion of loading and hauling cycles.
Ceramic-Reinforced BimetalConveyor Chutes & Transfer Points
Material transfer points experience high-velocity particle impact and sliding abrasion. Abrasion-resistant alloy plate (AR400/AR500) or bimetal overlays are standard; WC overlay for the most severe sections.
AR500 Plate · Bimetal OverlayCrushing & Screening Attachments
Mobile crusher jaws and screening deck panels mounted on excavators. Replaceable wear parts with standard CAT/Komatsu pin hole patterns ensure fast field replacement without specialized tools.
